Gold­bach and Num­bat mar­ket first EV-DOOH net­work in Germany

Clean­tech com­pa­ny Num­bat focus­es on new tech­nolo­gies and oper­ates a unique com­bi­na­tion of high-pow­er charg­er for EVs (Elec­tric Vehi­cles) and sus­tain­able bat­tery stor­age. What makes it spe­cial is that Num­bat can be installed any­where, any­time, with­out net­work prob­lems or huge con­struc­tion costs that are typ­i­cal­ly incurred when expand­ing fast-charg­ing infra­struc­ture. For Gold­bach, in addi­tion to the two inte­grat­ed 75-inch screens, the sus­tain­able aspect of the bat­tery stor­age is also rel­e­vant. This gives Gold­bach access to one of the most sus­tain­able adver­tis­ing media in the DOOH sec­tor and, as a nation­al mar­keter, will include the screens in its port­fo­lio in the future. The coop­er­a­tion rep­re­sents a major step for­ward for the Ger­man DOOH mar­ket. In a sus­tain­able and rapid­ly grow­ing e‑mobility era, fast-charg­ing pil­lars are becom­ing rel­e­vant adver­tis­ing media, thus also open­ing up new areas such as super­mar­ket park­ing lots that were pre­vi­ous­ly rather dif­fi­cult to access.

In con­crete terms, the coop­er­a­tion means in the first step the nation­al mar­ket­ing of more than 600 sys­tems with two screens each in 2023. Due to the increas­ing num­ber of e‑cars on Ger­man roads and the asso­ci­at­ed high demand for “Num­bats”, the num­ber of fast charg­ing infra­struc­tures will rise sharply in the com­ing years. Food retail­ers in par­tic­u­lar ben­e­fit from this devel­op­ment, as fast charg­ing of e‑cars along­side shop­ping is uncom­pli­cat­ed and easy to inte­grate into every­day life. The clean­tech com­pa­ny Num­bat, for exam­ple, already announced that it would be equip­ping super­mar­ket chains Feneberg and tegut…, among oth­ers, with fast-charg­ing infra­struc­ture through­out Germany.

The roll-out of the first sys­tems will begin as ear­ly as the end of 2022 / begin­ning of 2023. Num­bat­’s goal is to expand through­out the DACH region and sub­se­quent­ly through­out Europe. In addi­tion to a net­work of fast-charg­ing infra­struc­ture, this also cre­ates a net­work of new DOOH adver­tis­ing spaces.
