Jugend Eine Welt is another supporting member of Startup|Energy Africa

The Startup|Energy initiative for the promotion of East African start-ups in the field of decentralised renewable energy supply has received a further supporting member in the form of Jugend Eine Welt.

Jugend Eine Welt – Don Bosco Aktion Österreich is an Austrian aid organisation that has been working since 1997 to improve the future prospects of children and young people on the margins of society worldwide. Following the principle “Education overcomes poverty”, Jugend Eine Welt supports aid projects, schools, programmes for street children and educational projects in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

The importance of the initiative – with GIZ as the main sponsor – is also shown by the fact that a total of 46 local startups applied for Energy Camp East Africa! Five participants were selected to participate.

Benefits for the selected start-ups participating in the Energy Camp:

  • Individual coaching by experienced entrepreneurs
  • Participation in the workshop in Kampala
  • Participation in the final Startup|Energy Award. The winner of the award receives a prize money of 5.000 Euro for the further development of his startup.
  • Networking with partners from the Startup|Energy community: investors, partner companies, accelerators
