The largest East German municipal utility Sachsenenergie will handle and settle “a large part” of its core energy processes with Powercloud. For the IT service provider, it is an important deal, which represents 600,000 end customers and the settlement of 1 million contracts.
The cloud platform offers a variety of standardized energy functions for the German market. With the help of the modular SaaS solution (Software as a Service), SachsenEnergie can map new customer-centric products marketable within a very short time and flexibly control and value-creating services for customers within a modernised IT landscape. This creates a much broader digital service offering from SachsenEnergie. This sets the foundation for SachsenEnergie to remain customer-oriented and future-proof.
More than 200 customers already manage around 8 million contractual relationships on the powercloud platform. “Regional utilities and municipal utilities in particular are becoming more and more important for us, because they bring all the prerequisites for the energy market of the future,” confirms Marco Beicht, founder and CEO of powercloud GmbH. “For example, there is a differentiated product portfolio, which includes not only the traditional energy supply but also regional offers and services. In the future, however, these will have to be combined, marketed and billed very easily. And that’s exactly what the powercloud is designed for. We are very much looking forward to working with SachsenEnergie.”
With the merger of DREWAG and ENSO, SachsenEnergie was created in 2021 as the largest municipal utility in East Germany. The company reliably supplies around 600,000 customers with energy, water, energy-related services and modern infrastructure. Over the next ten years, SachsenEnergie plans to invest more than €2 billion in the supply infrastructure.
With its platform of the same name, powercloud GmbH has been offering an open SaaS solution for the energy industry since 2012 and is currently the market leader in Germany with more than 200 customers. Powercloud already manages more than 8 million contracts with approximately 6 billion sales in the settlement. A further 20 million contracts are in the country. powercloud is the fastest growing CRM and billing system in the industry, promotes the development of innovative energy brands, green offerings and makes existing utilities, network and meter operators as well as municipal utilities fit for the IT and customer requirements of the future.
