Battery diagnostics for electric vehicles: After two years of intensive research and development, the Austrian startup Aviloo GmbH was able to develop an independent test procedure for Li batteries in electric and plug-in vehicles. A groundbreaking feature is that battery diagnostics can be performed across manufacturers, making it comparable and a highly reliable tool for evaluating used EVs.
The value of the battery depends on its state of health and is therefore a decisive factor for the vehicle value of a used EV, because after all the battery is the most cost-intensive component. Therefore, the Aviloo battery check should become a mandatory standard when buying/selling used EVs. The Aviloo certificate documents the health of the battery and should therefore be a factor in determining the residual value of the used EV. The car trade, insurance companies, financial service providers and, in particular, the consumer could profit from this.
