Mithras Technology is a spin-off of ETH Zurich and develops thermoelectric generators that convert human body waste heat into usable electricity. Energy can thus be produced anytime and anywhere, and power our mobile devices, or medical applications such as hearing aids.
The Mithras team has developed two concepts for how TEG sensors can be worn on the body: As a standalone wearable worn like a wristwatch, or as an integrated solution of a mobile device. The only condition for electricity production is that the device is worn directly on the body. One possible application of the technology in the consumer sector is fitness trackers that function completely autonomously with an integrated TEG system.
