We provide solar powered cold rooms for fish, fruit and vegetable farmers. This cold storage system is ideal for Kenyan farmers as it adequately addresses the problem of post-harvest losses of fresh produce. The products are placed in clean plastic boxes, which are stacked in the cold room. This extends the shelf life from two to about 30 days. Solar energy reduces storage costs by up to 40% compared to normal electricity.
